Djibouti - Morocco and Djibouti "have opted to make health their battle horse", wrote the Agence djiboutienne d'information (ADI) on Monday, noting that health and social protection are "levers for increased cooperation" between the two countries.

Commenting on the two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed on Friday between Morocco and Djibouti to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of health and social protection, the official ADI agency notes that these two agreements will breathe new life into Djibouti-Morocco cooperation.

"The strengthening of medical, paramedical and pharmaceutical capacities is what gives meaning to the agreement linking Djibouti's Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale to Rabat's Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU). This text is in itself a real step forward, said the heads of the two institutions as they initialed the documents relating to the agreement", reports ADI.

The agency stresses that its implementation should enable us to provide solutions that meet our needs, particularly in the field of training healthcare personnel.

"It's important to remember this fact, which neither party should forget when they have just decided to raise the level of their healthcare exchanges: From senior technicians to specialists and general practitioners, many of our healthcare professionals were trained in Morocco. More than their fond memories of the Cherifian Kingdom, it's the quality of their work that has earned them the respect of their peers trained elsewhere. All of them, like the political decision-makers in both countries, are keeping an eye on the past while resolutely looking to the future", writes ADI.

The MoUs were signed in Rabat at a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, in the company of the Minister of Labor responsible for the formalization of social protection. of Djibouti, Omar Abdi Saïd, and in the presence of the Director General of the University Hospital Center (CHU) in Rabat, as well as the Director of the National Social Security Fund of Djibouti.
